WE HAD A WONDERFUL TRIP. WE ALSO HAVE WONDERFUL CHILDREN. For Mother's Day and Father's Day, our children presented us with gift certificates to the Hotel Nauvoo with funds to cover gas as well. We are spoiled and blessed to have such great loving kids.
We drove to Sidney, Nebraska, the first day. This is the home of the first Cabela's. No, we did not waste our time there. We found the price of gas was less in Nebraska than in Utah.
The second day we drove and drove. WE stoppped at Winter Quarters, which is in Omaha. We drove over th e Mormon Bridge but we missed getting a picture of it. We found out we were still 6 hours away from Nauvoo so we hustled out the door and down the road. We arrived in Nauvoo at about 10P.M. Our room was great. The air conditioner was on which was appreciated.
Our first day in Nauvoo started with a tasty breakfast complimentary of the hotel. yum yum. We spent the morning at the temple. It is beautiful. Then we were the tourists of Nauvoo park and caught most of the exhibits. We dined in the dining hall of the hotel. They have a delicious and famous buffet. It was so good. We ended the day by attending the pageant. It was great. A young man called out...."Robison's". We turned around and had NO idea who this guy was. He was little Eddy from our old ward in Holladay. Eddie Jackson...now 40 years old with 8 children. Eddie mowed our grass in the old neighborhood. He was one of the young men that loved Gary. He has a beautiful family and they were performing in the pagaent.
