Today is Tricia's birthday. Happy Birthday Daughter.
Oh yes, I remember the day well. It started early early in the morning of January 1 in 19__. We left for theLDS Hospital at about 9:00. Dad went out to warm up the car, but it would not start. Can you believe it? Leonard Green lived in the Tanner's house and he came running over. He volunteered to take us to the hospital. In the end when the old Toyota would not go, Leonard took Cyndi, Polli, Bart, and Dad and me to Grandma Robison's house. We left everyone at Grandma and Grandpa's and Dad and I left for the hospital in Grandma's Cadillac.
We got as far as Highland Drive and 33rd South and the Cadillac died. I thought I was going to die too. We said a little prayer and the Cadillac started and we made it to the hospital. We were not at the hospital very long before Tricia decided to ascend into this Earthly world. WE are glad she chose to come to our family.
Tricia was born at 12:03 P.M. NOT A.M. If she had come just 12 hours earlier, she would have been the first baby of the year. Oh well, Daddy said she was a prize anyway. Just a note however, we did not get to even claim her on our taxes. It was good she was worth it. Tricia was born with lots of black hair, blue eyes, and long eyelashes. She was a sweet heart as a baby and still is.
I remember the day we brought Tricia home from the hospital. Dad gave up on the Toyota, gave it to one of his old students, Leon Langston, and bought a brand new 1979 Oldsmobile to bring both Tricia and Mom home from the hospital. A new baby and a new car.
The Greens had moved and we had new neighbors moving in across the street, the Tanner's. Barbara came over to use our phone and met our new little Tricia. Barbara still talks to this day about Tricia and all the hair and how gorgeous she was. There is one thing about my babies, they were all beauties with lots of hair (even my one baby boy).
Tricia has been a sweetheart her whole life. She has brought love, compassion, dance, and drama into our family. WE are proud of her accomplishments in her life. We love you Tricia as does your whole family including extended family.
Happy Birthday.
