Today is Tricia's birthday. Others celebrate New Years Day, but we have been celebrating this day as Tricia's birthday for the past 30 years. Man where does time go?
On January 1, 1979, Tricia decided to make her debut into this world. We had a Toyota and it had always been dependable until this day. It would not start! Our dear neighbor came running across the street to say his Cadillac was warm and ready for the trek to the hospital. We finally gave up on the Toyota and our family, Cyndi, Polli, and Bart climbed into Leonard's car and drove us to Grandma Robison's house. We thanked Leonard and sent him home.
The children stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and dad and I took Grandma's Cadillac. We got as far as 33rd South and Highland Drive and the Cadillac died. I knew we were going to hit the news as BABY DELIVERED IN CAR. We said a little prayer and the car started. We finished our journey to LDS Hospital and our little Tricia was born 30 minutes later. She came into the world at 12:03 P.M. Yes, 12 hours too late for the prizes as the first baby of the year born, and 12 hours and 3 minutes too late for a tax deduction. Dad said she was our prize anyway.
Dad went shopping for a NEW CAR while Tricia and I were lounging around in the hospital for a NEW CAR. He picked us up in a brand new Pontiac. He gave the Toyota away. His friend, Leon, wanted to buy a house. He sold his car and was excited to have a dependable Toyota! He was happy and so were we.
Tricia always said she liked having her birthday on New Years Day because she never had to go to school on her birthday and Daddy was always home on that day. We made it a family party day. She would start celebrating at midnight every year.
We celebrated with Tricia and her family tonight. WE went to dinner with her, Ben, and their family, and Julia and Dustin.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRICIA....WE LOVE YOU.

Thats a funny story, I don't think I have ever heard it. If Tricia wasnt born until 1989, that would only make her 20! Way to go Tricia, you went from 29 to 20!
This makes her mom younger!
